hungarian hussar sabre 18th century



Fine Hungarian or possibly French in the Hungarian fashion Hussar sabre with original scabbard, typical long broad pattern welded (possibly imitation pattern welding) blade double edged towards the point, small areas of pitting and staining, gild brass or bronze hilt and scabbard mounts. Leather scabbard, grip covered with leather and rapt with wire. Gilding on cross guard and pommel cup partly worn, on scabbard mounts only traces remain. Sword in very good condition. Total length in scabbard 99 cm, blade 82 cm long, 4.4 cm wide at base, cross guard 13 cm wide. 18th c
