south indian tulwar with mysore armoury inscription






A fine well balanced sword, iron hilt with a knuckle guard and a horn shaped pommel. Blade probably watered steel, widening towards the striking point and narrowing to a slender double edged tip. There is a well formed makers stamp and Mysore armoury inscriptions. Good untouched condition with small blemishes and patches of patina. Blade 77 cm striking point 5 cm total 92 cm 18th century
